Ever leave a medical appointment feeling frustrated or unheard? I’ve been there. When I was first diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, I felt lost navigating specialists, medication plans, and lifestyle changes. My doctor referred me to a rheumatologist, and I carefully researched providers, hoping to find someone who would explore more than just medication. I wanted someone who could also support self-care and lifestyle adjustments.

At my first rheumatology appointment, however, I was told medication was the only solution, and that lifestyle changes wouldn’t play a significant role in my treatment. This response left me feeling disheartened. But instead of giving up, I decided to take charge of my health journey.
